Catechism forms the cornerstone of faith education for children and youth within the Syro-Malabar Mission Newcastle | Maitland. Our program is designed to nurture spiritual growth by teaching the core beliefs, traditions, and practices of the Syro-Malabar Church. Through age-appropriate lessons, prayer, and participation in the sacraments, children develop a strong foundation in their Catholic faith.

Guided by dedicated catechists—many of whom are active members of our community—our catechism classes also emphasize moral values, community service, and living out the Gospel in everyday life. We strive to create a welcoming and supportive environment where young learners can grow closer to God, understand their faith deeply, and build lifelong connections within the Church.

Our mission is to prepare our youth not only for the sacraments but to become faithful, active members of the Church who will carry forward the rich heritage of the Syro-Malabar tradition in the Newcastle | Maitland region and beyond.
